Thank you to everyone who attended our September Bridal Expo last Tuesday September 13th!
Tuesday was a beautiful day and while it grew chillier in the evening, guests were able to enjoy the cocktail hour which was set up outdoors on the terrace by our Fountain Garden.
The walkway leading to the fountain was decorated with hurricaines and candles by our Design division. The hurricaines can also line the ceremony aisle for an evening ceremony.
The Secret Garden was decorated in ivory organza with ivory flower balls and pink and ivory rose petals in an intricate lattice design. A flower covered monogram was added to the gazebo. If you are including a monogram in your invitation and incorporating the monogram in the reception though your cake topper or on your menus, then you should consider a floral monogram as part of your ceremony decor and depending what the letter is, you can have the rose petals patterened after your monogram.
More and more couples are incorporating the signature drink table into their cocktail hour. At the expo we had the Double Apple Mojito and the Blingtini on display. Guests enjoyed sampling the drinks and the Blingtini, which was a signature drink featured at a wedding this past summer, was the crowd favorite.

Couples are looking for different cocktail station ideas to personalize their reception. At the Expo, guests were able to sample different stations including our Gourmet Burger Bar and the Smashed Mac-N-Cheese Bar. The Gourmet Burger Bar is for the couple who keeps up with all the latest food trends. The burger has made a big resurgence ever since celebrity Chef Daniel Boulud created his famous $29 foie gras and short rib stuffed burger. Many celebrity chefs have followed Chef Boulud’s lead and now there are top-ten lists for the best gourmet burgers. Our Gourmet Burger Bar includes your choice of three different gourmet burgers coupled with onion rings and mini black and white milk shakes. The ever-popular Smashed Potato Martini Bar s being combined with our Mac-N-Cheese station and features Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Gorgonzola and Pancetta Spiral Mac-N-Cheese and traditional Cheddar and American Mac-N-Cheese with the following toppings: Beef Bourguignon, Chili, Broccoli Florets, Diced Tomatoes, Scallions and Shredded Cheddar Cheese.
Our featured dessert presentation at the Expo continues to be our most popular dessert station: the New York Cheesecake Martini Bar which features cheesecake presented in a martini glass with your choice of toppings including fresh fruit, warm strawberries, Oreo and M&Ms.
Our Event Design and Décor division had several centerpieces on display including candelabras, chandelier trees, flower balls which are the up and coming trend, and other designs which are pictured below. When considering centerpieces, you should think about the look and feeling you want to create. Candles are very romantic while the crystals give more of a bling look. Flowers are very traditional but you can incorporate more modern designs. Also if elaborate centerpieces are not in the budget, you can always mix the more elaborate centerpieces wtih less elaborate ones. Many couples mix hi and low centerpieces or even highlight the two tables closest to the dais with special centerpieces.
Also on display were different linen options for the couple looking to upgrade their table linens. Chair covers continue to be very popular whether you go with a draped back, a sash or a simple cover. If you like the look of the sash, you can have the sashes tied into bows, shaped into a rosette or attached wtih a chair buckle.
