Time and time again, guests comment that the best part of a wedding is the cocktail hour and what better way to make a memorable impression than to include a specialty station to coordinate with your wedding’s theme, to highlight your ethnic background or favorite foods.
Currently, sliders and comfort foods are all the rage and if you are a fan, you should consider incorporating a comfort food station into your cocktail hour such as a Gourmet Burger Bar
with Mini Milk Shakes or our Mac-N-Cheese Station
The Smashed Potato Bar is also making a resurgence this year and is always a big hit. These stations are memorable because they offer something fun and different for your guests. More and more couples are personalizing their receptions and here are some ideas from weddings at Majestic Gardens that we thought we would share with you.
Rosa & Alex
: Looking to incorporate their heritage into their reception, Rosa and Alex added our South of the Border Station
to their cocktail hour together with an interactive Margarita Bar
South of the Border
The South of the Border station featured sizzling fajitas and crispy tacos prepared for their guests and at the Margarita Bar, guests added their favorite fruit infusions to traditional margaritas. To complete the celebration of their heritage the couple had a strolling Mariachi Band playing in the gardens for their guests’ enjoyment.
Jen & John
: Jen and John had a romantic wedding ceremony on a secluded beach in Hawaii and celebrated their marriage with a reception in New York for family and friends. They wanted to incorporate Hawaiian cuisine into their cocktail hour and included our Hawaiian Grill Station
featuring Macadamia-Crusted Chicken with Lime Dipping Sauce, Teriyaki Beef & Pineapple Skewers and Polynesian Rice.
A variety of frozen tropical drinks garnished with fresh fruit and Luau Punch with floating edible orchids were passed butler style by our staff. Jen and John had fresh flower leis flown in for their guests and provided tropical themed tuxedo ties for our staff.
Sue & Dave
: From our first meeting with Sue and Dave, it was clear that they loved the fall colors and the cooler fall weather. They celebrated the fall with their color selections and their menu selections.
Fall Harvest Station
The atrium was decorated with cinnamon spice lamour table linens and chair sashes and the buffet tables all featured cinnamon spice linens with colorful mums and pumpkins as accents. The Cocktail Hour included our Fall Harvest Station
which was created especially for their reception. The station features Pumpkin Ravioli, Butternut Squash Soup Shooters and one of our executive chef’s specialties, Chicken Calvados (chicken breast smothered in apples, toasted almonds and calvados brandy sauce).
The possibilities are endless when it comes to personalizing your wedding! So have fun, be creative and be sure to make it your own!
