Wedding Hashtags

Social Media plays a huge role in your wedding day. Whether it is the Engagement Photos you put on Facebook, the Save the Date you put on Instagram, or even the updates you post on Twitter, every step of your relationship seems to be documented on these fronts. One of the newest ways people are integrating Social Media into their special day is by adding a Wedding Hashtag.

There are a few important things to remember when designing your perfect hashtag. First, be sure to include some fore of your names in your wedding hashtag.  You can use first names, last names, or even a combination of both. To add a unique twist, try dropping the classic “Mr. and Mrs.” and instead just use the last name.

Many couples like to include the date in their wedding hashtag. After all, you may want to consider that there are other people that might have your name. But, they won’t have your date too! Adding the date is a perfect way to keep your hashtag your own and avoid duplications from other couples around the world.

Looking to have a line your guests will never forget? Think of a pun or a joke that you and your significant share between you and use it! This personalizes your hashtag so much more than just a name or date because it has significance to you or your life.

Finally, avoid the mistakes. Firstly, don’t pick words that are too challenging to spell. Guests will have a hard time and then you won’t be able to find all of your pictures. Secondly, it might be a good idea to capitalize the first letter of every word in your hashtag so that your guests will know exactly what your hashtag says. It can avoid confusion on which words are actually in the hashtag.  Finally, be sure to post signs letting your guests know what your hashtag is in areas that are highly visible such as the card table and the bars.

Finding your wedding hashtag is a great way to add personalization to your event. In addition to creating something fun and unique, you will have the ability to find your pictures simply by searching one key phrase.
