2013 Wedding Trend: LACE
After the Royal Wedding of Will and Kate, the expectation was that lace would be making a big comeback as a result of the stunning gown Kate wore with the beautiful lace top and sleeves.
For this upcoming wedding season, lace is definately one of the major forecasted trends. Lace is being incorporated in linens, dresses, cake designs, invitations and even wedding bouquets!
Pictured below is a Reem Acra 2013 Runway lace wedding gown that is stunning! This dress incorporates the vintage feel of lace with another big trend: bling.
Another way to incorporate lace, is by adding lace to your wedding bouquet. You can wrap the stems of your bouquet with lace or even add lace ribbon to the actual bouquet. Here is a wedding bouquet featured on Preston Bailey’s website and uses lace from the wedding dress worn by the bride’s mother.
If you look on Pinterest or Google images, many lace wedding pictures include touches of bling. If you like a more vintage look, consider replacing the bling with pearl accents. For the invitations, lace can be used as a wrap or can be added to the actual invitation to frame the printing. Another option is to have a lace-type design incorporated into the invitation.
For the reception, consider lace table linens or even vintage inspired centerpieces with lace incorporated int0 the the vessel used for your flowers. For 2013, many brides are returning to traditional round wedding cakes and are adding both bling and lace touches.
There are many other trends for 2013 which we will be featuring in our next blog post so check back!
